Macbeth's Three Witches
The best scene ever
I love Shakespeare and have always been drawn to Macbeth because of the themes of ambition, aggression, scheming, greed, and guilt. But, of course, the witches. Everyone, even those who couldn’t care or less about Macbeth or Shakespeare knows of the witches. This version from Joel Cohen’s recent production with Denzel Washington—absolutely amazing as Macbeth—is spellbinding. Every second in this scene is perfection. I can’t imagine ANYONE ever being able to surpass this performance or staging. The mist, the bird-like nature, the reflection in the pond and movement to earth. Yeah, pure perfection.
